3D Printer
We now have a Solidscape 3D printer, very exciting! It's a 3Z Pro, a very high-quality printer that prints in wax at a very high level of detail and surface finish. It can print in layers as thin as 6 microns (that's over 160 layers per millimetre!) for those really delicate parts, up to 76 microns (13 layers per mm) for larger parts when speed and budget are more important, so we have a lot of control over the process to match your requirements or budget.
The 3Z prints in 2 waxes; a soft support wax and a hard model wax. The Support wax is melted off the model in an oil bath which means there are no support structure artefacts left on the model that need to be cleaned up, which can add a lot of labour and cost. The model wax is the best printer material available for lost-wax casting, offering complete melt-out with no residue or ash left behind allowing for your model to be cast up in any material without worrying about inaccuracies or surface finish. Solidscape printing is the best choice for jewellers in particular, as you can guarantee your casting will be 100% accurate to the print. The prints can also be moulded in silicone rubber for resin casting as well.
